Frequently asked questions

Data sources, legal use, refunds, and privacy — answered in one place.

Where does OSINTS.xyz get its data?

Data is aggregated from public and commercial OSINT providers. OSINTS.xyz is a search interface — we don't operate a proprietary database of personal records.

Is this legal to use?

OSINT lookups are legal when used for legitimate purposes: fraud investigation, journalism, security research, KYC augmentation, and self-checks. You are responsible for compliance with local laws in your jurisdiction.

Do I get refunded when a lookup fails?

Yes — every upstream failure is auto-refunded. Not-found is a real answer and is charged; the module page explains what "not found" means for that data type.

Can I remove my own number from results?

Yes. Add it to your Protected Numbers list from the dashboard. Any lookup that matches a protected value is redacted, refunded, and audit-logged.
