Every Indian vehicle registration begins with a state code followed by a two-digit RTO number. The prefix MP07 is assigned to the Indore Regional Transport Office in Madhya Pradesh. Any vehicle whose number plate starts with MP07 was originally registered here.
A typical MP07 plate looks like MP07 AB 1234 — the first four characters (MP07) identify the RTO, the two letters are the series, and the last four digits are the unique vehicle number.
